Sustainability

At Dry-Tex, sustainability is at the core of their operations. They are committed to reducing their carbon footprint and embracing renewable energy solutions to create a cleaner, greener future. Here’s how they are making a difference:

Carbon Emission Reduction
In July 2022, the European Outdoor Group (EOG) commissioned a carbon emission report by Reset Carbon. The report revealed that nearly all of Dry-Tex’s emissions stem from electricity consumption. To address this, they have implemented key initiatives:
Replacing old weaving machines with more energy-efficient models
Installing on-site solar power solutions
Rapidly increasing business volume while optimizing energy use
Impact:
160% change against absolute base year emissions
Based on Reset Carbon’s 2022 report, carbon intensity decreased by 35% from 2016 to 2021
Solar Power Project
Since 2019, their solar power project has been making a significant impact by generating approximately 1,600,000 kWh of power annually. This initiative contributes to:
Saving 2,000,000 kgs of standard coal per year
Reducing 1,400,000 kgs of carbon emissions per year

100% Renewable Energy Commitment
Starting in 2024, Dry-Tex will transition to 100% green electricity, dramatically reducing carbon emissions to nearly zero. This shift will result in:
20,765 tons of carbon emissions saved annually
For every single meter of fabric, we can save 1.2 kg of CO2
Molten Salt Energy Storage Project
They are investing in cutting-edge molten salt energy storage technology to ensure 24-hour uninterrupted steam and electricity supply. This project involves:
Converting green electricity into heat energy, stored in high-temperature molten salt
Providing a continuous supply of steam and green electricity
Project Highlights:
- $30 million total investment
- 6,700 m² land area
- Operation start date: October 22
- 14,000 kW/h peak electricity
- 50,000 kgs/hour of steam production
- 56,000,000 kgs reduction in standard coal usage per year
- 39,000,000 kgs reduction in carbon emissions per year
Battery Energy Storage Project
To further enhance energy efficiency, they are implementing a battery energy storage project that will:
Lower electricity costs
Reduce grid network peak loads
Provide emergency backup power
At Dry-Tex, they believe that sustainability is not just a goal—it’s a responsibility. Through these initiatives, they are actively working towards a cleaner and more sustainable future for the industry and the planet.
